Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's an Ornithopter flying through the air!
An ornithopter is a flying machine that uses wings to generate lift. Unlike aeroplanes, ornithopters rely on the flapping of their wings for power, jus tlike a bird.
Aerodynamics has made many advancements since the 15th century. This kit allows you to look back at Da Vinci's designs and build something designed hundreds of years ago.
Leonardo da Vinci had a fascination with flight. His study of birds and human-powered flight helped lay the foundation for modern aerodynamics. Da Vinci’s ornithopter design has captured the imagination of people for generations. While it is unknown if his ornithopter was ever built, many have speculated what it may look like.
The Da Vinci Ornithopter kit is natural, untreated wood. It combines a cool flying machine with one of his bevel gear designs and works by flapping its wings. The added bonus is the pilot with moving arms and legs.

Yes, this kit may be challenging for some. The finished product will be worth it though!
